How to Convert Images to PDF (Single or Multiple Pictures)

Need to send scanned documents, receipts or photos as a single file? Turning pictures into a PDF keeps them in order and makes them easy to print and share.

Create a PDF from images

  1. Open Image to PDF (or JPG to PDF and PNG to PDF).
  2. Drop in your pictures. Use the arrows to reorder them.
  3. Choose the page size: A4, US Letter, A3, A5, US Legal, or Same as each image.
  4. Pick the orientation and margin. Automatic orientation uses landscape for wide pictures.
  5. Select an image quality and press Create PDF.

Your pictures stay on your device. That matters for IDs, contracts and medical documents.

Keep the PDF small

Email limits and upload forms often cap size. To reduce it:

  • Choose Medium or Small under Image quality, which limits the longest side to 1600 or 1000 pixels.
  • Lower the JPEG quality to about 80.
  • Crop empty space off scans first with the Crop tool.
  • Convert colour pages to black and white if colour is not needed.

Scanned documents tips

  • Photograph the page straight on in bright, even light.
  • Use the Perspective tool to straighten a skewed shot.
  • Increase contrast with the Photo Enhancer so text is crisp.

Page size guide

Size Dimensions Region
A4 210 x 297 mm Most of the world
US Letter 8.5 x 11 in USA, Canada
A3 297 x 420 mm Posters, drawings
A5 148 x 210 mm Notebooks

The reverse: PDF to image

To extract pages as pictures use PDF to JPG or PDF to PNG.

Troubleshooting

  • Pictures look small on the page. Reduce the margin or choose Same as each image.
  • File is too large. Pick a lower quality and resolution.
  • Pages are in the wrong order. Use the up and down arrows before creating the PDF.

Get the pages right

  • Order: arrange your pictures in the order they should appear before you convert. It is easier than fixing it afterwards.
  • Orientation: rotate sideways photos first. See rotate image.
  • Size: most documents use A4 or Letter. Choose a page size and let the picture fit inside it with margins.

Keep the PDF small enough to send

A PDF built from phone photos can be huge. Shrink each picture first with the image compressor. Email limits are usually around 20 to 25 MB, and many online portals ask for under 5 MB.

Choose the right format for the content

JPG is best for photos and scans. PNG keeps crisp edges for screenshots and diagrams. For scanned paperwork, aim for around 150 to 200 DPI, which stays readable without bloating the file.

Tools

Use image to PDF for mixed formats, JPG to PDF for photos, or PNG to PDF for screenshots. Need the pictures back out of a PDF later? PDF to JPG reverses it. Your files stay in your browser and are not uploaded.
